Kaveh Kanes - Capital

As we ease into the week, our frayed nerves demand some dreamy jangle pop.  And we are willing to travel for it.  And travel we did -- to Indonesia.  Well, truthfully the legwork is attributable to Chris, the CEO of Jigsaw Records, who discovered Capital, an album from Indonesian band Kaveh Kanes.  The original release date was a few years ago, but the album didn't get the wide audience of indie pop fans it deserves, so we're happy to help the band, and Jigsaw, give it new life.  The band's sound reminds of of late Seattle favorite Seapony, although several of the songs on the latter half of the album also echo early work by New Zealand's Surf City.  It is delicious stuff and well worth your time.  Also note that the band will have an album of new material out in the new year.

Kaveh Kanes are Asad Gibran (vocals), Zaimmudin Mukarrom (guitar), Muchammad Najib (drums), and Hafid Alattas (bass).  Capital is out now in CD and digital formats via Jigsaw Records.  See the Bandcamp link below.
