WYMA loves Superchunk. You love Superchunk. Everyone loves Superchunk and for damn good reasons.
On August 20, the venerable (how is that possible?) North Carolina quartet will release their 10th LP, I Hate Music, on Merge Records, the label that Superchunk's Mac McCaughan and Laura Ballance built into an indie powerhouse.
Here's a preview / teaser video of the record:
And here's one song "FOH":
The good people at Merge were kind enough to send us an advance copy this week and we'll post a full review closer to release date.
But trust us, I Hate Music is good. It's very good. "FOH" and every other song there will have you grinning from ear to ear and ready to jump around the house.
It's hardly a surprise that Superchunk has made another great record, but it's excellent news and one more reason to look forward to summer.
