Saturday Shorts: Wild Nothing; Neverever; Parakeet; Hhappiness

Jack Tatum's Wild Nothing project will be releasing a 7" on February 21 on Captured Tracks. Rather than a bedroom recording, this is a studio project with backing vocals from Andrea Estella of Twin Sister. Here is the lovely "Nowhere" --

We profiled Neverever a couple of months ago to highlight the release of their Shake-A-Baby EP on Slumberland Records. The group has just released the track "Mexicoco" from the EP. I've listened to it a couple of times, and it seems to me to be a the happy result of a '60s girl group "going native" on a Latin American vacation. Stream it here:

Mariko Doi, bassist and sometimes vocalist for Yuck, and James Llewellyn Thomas, the drummer for The History of Apple Pie, have formed a side project called Parakeet. "Tomorrow" has been released as a free download.

We recently featured Swedish band Hhappiness in our Midnight World Pop Scout series. The boys have released a video for their song "Bananas".
