New single from The Pastels
Yes, The Pastels, a Glasgow group that with Olympia's Beat Happening was largely responsible for the DIY/anyone-can-play-and-sing movement, is back this spring with a new LP, Slow Summits. And first single available from the record is "Check My Heart". In my opinion, the song reminds us of why the band is beloved by many indie pop fans, and why we eagerly await the release of the album.
The current line-up for The Pastels is Stephen McRobbie (founding member), Katrina Mitchell (long time member), Gerald Love (also of Teenage Fanclub and Lightships), Tom Crossley, Alison Mitchell and John Hogarty (also of BMX Bandits and Belle & Sebastian). Slow Summits will be released by Domino Recording Company.
