Redd Kross announces tour dates, supporting Researching The Blues

One of the records most often recommended to me as I shared "Best of 2012" lists with friends was Redd Kross' Researching The Blues. How I overlooked it, well, who knows? Maybe it was the hundreds of other records I checked out - but I've remedied the situation and will join in the chorus of praise... Check out the terrific guitar work here, especially the thundering runs on "Stay Away From Downtown" and the title track (which also embodies some great surf/punk drum and bass work):



Somehow, 34 years on, the brothers McDonald are still able to harness the punk spirit (and those outrageous guitar leads) that launched their career when they were 11 and 15 and opening for Black Flag... and now I have the opportunity to tell you about their upcoming tour, starting March 1 in California:
