Today's first feature is "Judy's Lament" by Glasgow shoegazers Yakima. To be honest, I was attracted to their name even before I heard their music because I live a couple of hours' drive from a city named Yakima. But that tenuous connection became irrelevant when I heard this song, a lovely, mid-tempo guitar pop tune with shades of melancholy. The song is available today on digital platforms, and the band is working on their debut album.
Yakima are Neil McArthur (bass/vocals), John Houston (vocals/guitar), Kay McLaren (drums), and Paul Bradley (guitar).
